Austin to host 2003 professional communicators conference
AUSTIN — Communicators
of all types will harmonize in the capital of Texas Oct. 1-3 when the
International Association of Business Communicators District 5 conference
convenes in Austin for "Communication in Concert."
The 2003 conference will celebrate the role communicators play in the
success of their businesses while offering new approaches and ideas to
liven up old tunes and adapt to new styles. Keynote speakers from two
successful companies — Dell Computer Corporation and Southwest Airlines
— will provide food for thought and fresh ideas for old communication
challenges, and former CNN anchor Bob Losure will offer a media perspective.
Twenty-two
concurrent sessions also will provide many opportunities for attendees
to learn from a variety of communicators from all over the United States
and as far away as South Africa. A riverboat reception and dine-around
will offer attendees opportunities to relax and network during the evenings.
