What the “B” in IABC Means – or Should Mean – to You
If you can’t talk the talk, forget about the rest. Communicators need a strong understanding of how the business world works - perhaps even more than most in a company. This session will address the need for professional business communicators becoming stronger business professionals — and how to do just that. Specific issues will include graduate/professional education options (e.g., MBA vs. MA), self-learning strategies, and the power of a strong business vocabulary.

Presenter
J. David Pincus, Ph.D., APR, is currently a visiting professor in the MBA program of the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. In the late ‘90s, he served as director of the MBA program and spearheaded an overhaul of the MBA curriculum. Before that, he was a member of the faculties in the School of Communications at California State University, Fullerton, and the Executive MBA program at the University of Southern California. Before entering academic life, he worked as director of employee communication for Marriott Corporation and managed the communication programs for two national trade associations.
